My Journey Into Art
Art has always been a way for me to make sense of the world.
There was a time when everything felt overwhelming, and creating became the thing that softened that. It gave me somewhere to put my thoughts, something to focus on, and a way to slow everything down when life felt too loud.
What started as something personal gradually became something I returned to again and again — not because I had to, but because it helped. It became a steady, grounding part of my life, even when everything else felt uncertain.
Over time, that quiet, personal connection to creativity grew into something I wanted to share.
The Making Of Emma.In.Colour
Emma.in.colour was built from that place, not just as a business, but as a way of holding onto what art gave me and offering that feeling to other people too.
My work is rooted in process. In taking time. In creating something by hand and allowing it to be imperfect, textured, and real. Through lino printing, I found a way of working that feels grounding and intentional, where each mark is considered, and each print carries its own character.
But Emma.in.colour is about more than the final pieces.
It’s about creating space for people to experience creativity without pressure. Whether that’s through the work itself or the workshops I run, my aim is always the same to make creativity feel accessible, calming, and something that belongs to everyone. Your skill level, confidence or even budget should never put barriers between you and creativity.
I don’t believe you have to be “good at art” to benefit from it. I believe in the quiet moments it creates, the confidence it builds, and the way it allows people to reconnect with themselves in a gentle, meaningful way.
That’s what Emma.in.colour is built on.
Creating, sharing, and holding space in full colour, always.
Team
Meet My Team
Emma.incolour might look like a one-woman business, but behind the scenes there's a small (and slightly chaotic) team helping everything come together.
That team is what I like to call Team Turner!

Margo
Studio Assistant
Margo is my very enthusiastic studio assistant, currently in training and taking her role very seriously (depending on the day).
Her roles include:
• Supervising all creative work (with attitude because it takes my attention away from her).
• Taste testing things she shouldn't.
• Providing emotional support (and distress) during long carving sessions.

Mum
Problem Solver
My mum is the constant presence behind emma.in.colour but also behind Emma Turner (me); she's what holds everything together.
Her roles include:
• Being my brain when things feel overwhelming.
• The voice of reason against the ADHD constant stream of ideas.
• Helping me make schedules, lists and spreadsheets.

Nana
Head Of Packaging
Nana is in charge of making sure everything is carefully packed and ready to go.
Her roles include:
• Preparing cello bags with greyboard, thank you cards and my logo sticker on the back.
• Keeping things organised behind the scenes.
• All the fiddly jobs that give it a personal touch.

Grandad
Transport
Grandad plays a key role in making sure i (and everything else) actually get where it needs to be.
His roles include:
• Providing transport to markets, events, meetings... basically if I'm there, he is my taxi.
• Helping with any setup, heavy lifting or "man jobs".
• Free volunteer for anywhere I attend.
